The PennEast Pipeline Cuts Through Hunterdon County

The proposed route of the 105 mile, 30-inch pipeline will cross under the Delaware River and cut through the townships of Holland, Alexandria, Kingwood, Delaware, and West Amwell. This route will deliver up to 1 Billion cubic feet (Bcf) of natural gas, carrying with it risks of catostrophic explosions and spills, environmental damage, and health and safety issues through this rural western part of New Jersey enroute to its termination at Transco's Trenton Woodbury interconnection.

In Hunterdon County it has been a priority to preserve the bucolic surroundings that make living here so enjoyable and beneficial. Tax payers as well as programs and groups such as the Open Space, Recreation, Farmland and Historic Preservation Trust Fund, Hunterdon Land Trust, NJ Farmland Preservation Program, and the Green Acres Program have worked hard over the years to protect our natural areas. It is absurd for someone to take advantage of the hard work and resources that have gone into this preservation; destroying the land, habitats, and environment in their greedy, ecocentric quest.

Please inform yourself, spread awareness, and join the fight against the proposed Penn East pipeline and the destruction and risks that it would bring.
