Resources

Here are links to some helpful resources and contacts.

Know Your Rights

Carolyn Elefant is an attorney based in D.C. who specializes in pipline cases. She has put together a very informative guide called Knowing and Protecting Your Rights When an Interstate Gas Pipeline Comes to Your Community. Download your free copy here.

Circulate Our Petition

One of the best ways to spread the word about the pipeline is by circulating a petition. We've created a MoveOn petition you can share electronically. Find it here. Download a paper copy of our petition by clicking on the icon. If you want a customizable copy of the petition, email stoppenneastpipeline@gmail.com to request one.

Distribute Our Handout

This is a general handout you can distribute in your community. Download a copy by clicking on the icon.  If you'd like a customizable version, email stoppenneastpipeline@gmail.com

Deny/Rescind Permission Letter Template

Deny or rescind permission to survey your property using the downloadble, customizable letter template here.

Ask Your Municipality to Pass a Resolution

Federal pipeline rules exempt local governments from participating in the process of siting interstate pipelines. Some municipalities that successfully fought the Commonwealth pipeline  passed resolutions expressing their concerns. They were modeled after the one written by Warwick Township's supervisors. Read and download a copy to take to your municipality here.

Join the Delaware Riverkeeper Network

The Delaware Riverkeeper Network has a legal staff that, among other things, has brought litigation against pipelines with some important successes.  In order to pursue this litigation, including for PennEast should the opportunity present itself, we need to be sure we have members who are directly impacted — without such members we do not have the legal standing necessary to be heard by the courts.  You can sign up for a free membership at the Delaware Riverkeeper Network website.

Submit a Comment/File a Motion to Intervene

Should PennEast file an application with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, you'll need to file a motion to intervene as quickly as possible. Visit the FERC webite. Read our instructions on how to submit your comments and file motions to intervene.

Make the Case for Nature

The Natural Lands Trust issued a report on the potential impacts pipelines would have on the Hopewell Big Woods in Pennsylvania as part of the Commonwealth pipeline fight. Download a copy of their report.

Learn Much More from the Pipeline Safety Coalition

Lynda Farrell, Executive Director of the Pipeline Safety Coalition, is a tremendous resource to communities fighting pipelines. Her organization's website is loaded with helpful information. Visit their website.

Sign the Petition to the Delaware River Basin Commission

The Delaware Riverkeeper Network has created a petition calling on the Delaware River Basin Commission to act on its authority to become involved in the PennEast issue. Please sign and share the petition.

Request a List of Questions to Ask of PennEast and Public Officials

We've compiled a great list of questions you can ask at PennEast meetings or municipal meetings. We'd like to keep the list as private as possible so the PennEast folks don't get the list in advance, so please request a copy by emailing berksgastruth@gmail.com.
